Senate bill seeks to regulate mail-order prescriptions

in Uncategorized by

Republican Sen. Rene Garcia filed bill SB 1384 Thursday, to prohibit health plans from requiring customers to get prescriptions only through mail-order pharmacies.

The measure will also prohibit health plans from adding additional co-payments if customers choose not to order drugs from mail-order pharmacies.

Garcia’s proposal would apply to both insurance policies and health-maintenance contracts.
