Republican state Senate President Don Gaetz asked Gov. Rick Scott and state Surgeon General John Armstrong for a briefing over Florida’s Ebola preparation efforts.
Gaetz’s office confirmed a conference call will take place 12:30 p.m. today.
The demand came on Saturday after Scott issued an executive order requiring 21-day observation of any person returning to Florida after visiting West African countries affected by Ebola, including Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Scott’s directive also mandates twice-daily health monitoring.
