Former Rep. Shawn Harrison added only $675 in December, yet still holds a slight fundraising lead in his campaign to win back the House District 63 seat, according to Florida Division of Elections.
The Temple Terrace Republican faces incumbent Rep. Mark Danish for the seat covering parts of North Hillsborough County. Harrison first served in the House in 2010 for a single term, but then lost to the Democrat in 2012.
Overall fundraising for Harrison now stands at $50,810, giving him a slight edge over Danish, who raised $3,725 last month for a total of $39,647.
Also outperforming Harrison in December was his GOP primary opponent, former U.S. Air Force Maj. Bret Wedding, who raised $2,700 for a total of $10,750.
Comparing the cash on hand numbers, Harrison’s lead narrows to less than $1,000, with $33,356 in his war chest, versus $32,649 for Danish. Wedding has nearly $10,500 on hand.
