In conjunction with the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s annual Capitol Days, the Florida Chamber Political Institute today released results from a recent poll showing Governor Rick Scott’s job approval rating on the rise.
The poll was conducted January 3-7 by Cherry Communications and has a 4% +/- margin of error.
When asked: “Do you strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove or strongly disapprove of the job Rick Scott is doing as Governor,” the Governor received a 48.31% approval rating. His disapproval rating stood at 44.44%
According to Marian Johnson, Senior Vice President of Political Operations for the Florida Chamber, Governor Scott’s rising job approval rating is a strong indication that the nearly 135,000 new private-sector jobs created during his first year in office, declining unemployment numbers and an increasing population is resonating with Floridians.
“Governor Scott’s approval numbers are headed in the right direction,” said Johnson. “His ratings are in alignment with the positive employment gains that Florida is experiencing, and Floridians are beginning to take notice.”
