Asked if he was disappointed he was not endorsed by the Florida AFL-CIO, Charlie Crist said:
āI donāt think at all. It would have been nice, obviously, thatās why I went there. But I was awfully proud and pleased to get the teachersā support. Itās all about getting the support of the people.ā
Crist, who wooed the unions at their annual meeting this weekend, said heād welcome the support of other groups, including environmentalists such as the Sierra Club, according to the Palm Beach Post.
āYou know my style. Iāll take help from anyone whoās willing to give it and cares about Florida like we do. Thatās what itās about,ā Crist said.
After all, some would argue, it was Crist’s environmental policies which led to his ouster from the Republican Party.
