So, we have Dennis Jones to blame for Deveron Gibbons being re-appointed to the SPC Board of Trustees

What is it with older white dudes looovvviiinnnggg them some Deveron Gibbons?

First, St. Petersburg College Bill Law saves Deveron from choking to death on a hunk of steak at Bobby Van’s in D.C. Now, we come to find out State Senator Dennis Jones saved Deveron from being booted off the Board of Trustees for St. Petersburg College.

As part of some “horse-trading” with the Governor’s office, Jones reportedly asked for some people be reappointed to the Board of Trustees for St. Petersburg College, where he works, and Scott chose two of the four people Jones favored, Deveron Gibbons and Ken Burke.

I understand Jones going to bat for Burke, one of Dennis’ key allies in Pinellas. But Gibbons?  Really? Didn’t Dennis read my piece or the editorials from the Tampa Bay Times about Gibbons’ before recommending him to the Governor?

I guess I’ll never understand why the palefaces like Jones are still so intimidated by someone like Gibbons.
