Some RNC delegates say it took four hours to work their way back to their hotels

It was a late night for many Florida delegates to the Republican National Convention – but not necessarily because they were out partying, reports the News Service of Florida.

The delegation is posted way up north of Tampa in Palm Harbor in Pinellas County. Normally, that’s nearly an hour drive from downtown Tampa.

But the busses hired to move delegates around the region haven’t exactly run on time. After some busses didn’t show up to take delegates downtown on Tuesday, busses to take them back out to the Innisbrook resort took it a bit slow.

Some delegates said it took them 4 hours to work their way back to their hotels after the evening convention.

Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam joked about it at the delegation’s early morning breakfast.

“When’s the last time you saw 3 a.m.?” Putnam asked as three-quarters full breakfast.
