House Speaker-Designate Steve Crisafulli today announced his choice of Representative Jim Boyd to serve as Deputy Majority Leader and Whip for the 2014-2016 Legislative Term.
“With a new Republican supermajority in the Florida House of Representatives, the Deputy Majority Leader/Whip will have a critical leadership role in the Florida House. I can think of no better person to fill this important position than Representative Jim Boyd.”
“Representative Boyd has earned the respect of Republican and Democrat members alike. He has proven himself as a great leader and someone who can effectively communicate the conservative principles and beliefs we both share,” said Speaker-Designate Crisafulli. “He is someone I trust and someone that I rely on for counsel. I firmly believe there is no one better suited to serve as Whip and I look forward to working with him over the next two years.”
Deputy Majority Leader Boyd joins the other announced members of the Crisafulli administration which are House Appropriations Chair Richard Corcoran, nominee for House Majority Leader Dana Young, House Rules Chair Ritch Workman, and the nominee for House Speaker Pro Tempore Matt Hudson.
