St. Pete city closings for July 4

in Uncategorized by

Before you light up the barbecue next week, you might have to drag your trash out a day earlier.

For the week of July 4, St. Petersburg residential trash collection normally on Thursday will be on Wednesday.

Monday, Tuesday and Friday trash collections will remain the same July 1 to 5.

In addition, a number of city departments are closed Thursday for the Independence Day holiday:

  • City Hall
  • Municipal Services Center
  • Public libraries
  • Recreation centers
  • Enoch Davis Center
  • Sunshine Center
  • Dwight H. Jones Neighborhood Center
  • Jamestown Apartments & Townhomes office
  • Coliseum and Sunken Gardens’  business offices

Not all city facilities will close Thursday, however. These services will be open:

  • Boyd Hill Nature Preserve
  • Three city golf courses (Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links and Twin
    Brooks)
  • North Shore Aquatic Complex and eight neighborhood pools
  • Municipal Beach concession stand on Treasure Island
  • Mahaffey Theater
  • Municipal Marina Ship’s Store
  • Sanitation Department brush sites
  • Sunken Gardens attraction (only business offices closed)

If a specific facility is not on the list, find a complete list of city closings at www.stpete.org/holidays.  For a water or sewer emergency service, call the Water Resources Department at 727-893-7261. For police, fires or medical emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
