Realtor Brandi Gabbard received a boost this week in her campaign for City Council District 2 by winning the endorsement of the St. Petersburg Association of Firefighters.
“Our local firefighters enthusiastically support the candidacy of Brandi Gabbard for St. Petersburg City Council, District 2,” said Richard E. Pauley Jr., president of the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF), Local 747. “We found her to be well-informed and convincingly committed to our city’s public safety personnel. As a successful business woman, a proven leader in her profession, and an advocate for working families, we believe she is the better choice for City Council to lead on issues protecting citizens’ lives and property.”
“I am honored to have the support of our local firefighters and first responders. Residents unquestionably deserve to feel safe and secure in our city. It’s essential to our quality of life and the reputation of our community,” Gabbard said. “I see public safety as the primary responsibility of every elected official. So that they may keep us safe, I am fully committed to providing fire and rescue personnel, law enforcement officers, and public safety employees the tools, training and support they require.”
Gabbard is running against Barclay Harless in the race to succeed a term-limited out Jim Kennedy this year. Kennedy endorsed Harless last week.
