St. Pete Police Chief Anthony Holloway walked away with the St. Pete Chamber of Commerce’s top honor in its annual Good ‘Burger awards. Holloway beat out St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman, Bill Edwards and a handful of other business professionals in the city for the Chamber’s MVB, or Most Valuable ‘Burger, award.
Others nominated for that honor include Studio@620’s Bob Devin Jones, Eckerd College President Donald Eastman, Chief’s Creole Café owner Elihu Brayboy, Working Women of Tampa Bay’s Jessica Rivelli, St. Pete arts guru John Collins, St. Pete Marketing supervisor Kim Tyre, Keep St. Pete Local’s Olga Bof and restaurateur Steve Westphal.
Last Year All Children’s Hospital’s Jonathan M. Ellen earned MVB.
The favorite local “eats and treats” award went to the popular downtown St. Pete Italian restaurant Bella Brava.
Other awards went to I Love the ‘Burg, Kahwa Coffee and Fidelity Information Systems for best companies, small, medium and large.
3 Daughters Brewing on 22nd Street South near the Warehouse Wrts District nabbed the hot spots and hangouts award while Habitat Humanity of Pinellas County was voted most community conscious.
The people’s choice award this year went to SPSC Crossfit.
Voting went on through the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce’s website for most of August. Voting ended August 21. The winners were announced Thursday night at Jannus Live.
Some popular restaurants that were nominated but missed the cut include The Hangar, Ricky P’s Orleans Bistro, Noble Crust, Lucky Dill, La V, Harold Seltzers Steakhouse, Central Avenue Oyster Bay, theAvenue and the Midtown favorites Sylvia’s and Chief’s Creole Café.
Other nominated hotspots included Al Lang Field for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, First Night, Green Bench Brewing Co., Jannus Live, Mandarin Hide, the Shuffleboard Club, Sundial, The Ale & the Witch, the Canopy and Tradewinds Island Resort.
