Fifty contestants are currently halfway through their week of competition while 39 hopefuls vying for the Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen title are just beginning their week of pageantry.

Two nights of preliminaries remain for both groups before Saturday’s final pageant determines this year’s newest titleholders. This year’s theme is Viva la Diva, featuring an Elvis-inspired Las Vegas stage show featuring the Miss Florida contestants.

The Mahaffey Theater hosts the third round of preliminaries on Friday, where contestants in both the Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Florida Pageants participate in preliminary rounds at 4 and 8 p.m., respectively.

On Saturday, the finals of the Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Florida Pageants will also be held at 4 and 8 p.m.

Tickets for the preliminary pageants and Saturday’s finals are available through the Mahaffey Theater box office or www.missfl.org.

The public is invited to attend.

After being crowned on Saturday, June 21 by Myrrhanda Jones, Miss Florida 2013, the new Miss Florida title will represent the Sunshine State at the 2015 Miss America Pageant in September. Jones was the third runner-up in the 2014 Miss America Pageant after a severe injury in a mishap during talent.
