On Monday, Gov. Rick Scott announced the appointment of Stanley M. Weston to the Commission on Ethics.
Weston, 51, of Jacksonville, has been a partner at Moseley Prichard Parrish Knight and Jones since 1994. Previously, he was an assistant general counsel for the City of Jacksonville from 1985 to 1993. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. In service to his community, he has been a member of the Family Foundations Board of Directors, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors and past president of the Sanctuary of Northeast Florida Inc. Weston received a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a law degree from the University of Virginia. He succeeds Roy Rogers and is appointed for a term beginning February 13, 2012, and ending June 30, 2013.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
