State GOP Chairman Lenny Curry has removed the head of Republican Executive Committee of Volusia County, amid divisions in the local party, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Ousted county Chairman Joe Stich was accused of supporting an independent candidate over a Republican in city election and keeping more conservative Republicans from participating in the executive committee, the News-Journal reported.

Stich, however, blamed a broader movement by ultra-conservatives to take over local parties.  Here is a link to the News-Journal report via the News Service of Florida.
