Gov. Rick Scott will tell lawmakers today he’s very serious about his budget proposal to restore $1 billion in education spending that was cut last year, reports the Blackboard Jungle. He says voters have told him education is a top priority, and it is part of his economic development agenda too.
On the $1 billion earmark, Scott will hammer it home in today’s State of the State speech.
“I ask you to please consider that recommendation very carefully,” Scott will say according to advance copies of the speech. “On this point, I just cannot budge.”
