Steve Crisafulli committee takes in big campaign cash

“Growing Florida’s Future,” the political committee controlled by incoming House Speaker Steve Crisafulli collected $80,000 in cash from Oct. 4-10 for a total of nearly $600,000 available heading into closing weeks of the 2014 campaign, according to newly filed finance reports.

As of Oct. 10, the committee raised a total of $682,500 and spent $96,062.

During the weeklong period, among the largest contributors to the committee were a Florida Hospital Association political committee with $20,000 and $15,000 from AT&T Services.

If the Merritt Island Republican is re-elected next month in his Brevard County district, Crisafulli will be House speaker. Accordingly, he plays a key role in helping elect House Republicans across the state this year.

Another political committee headed by Crisafulli, the “House Republican Campaign Committee,” raised nearly $2.65 million through Aug. 21. Updated finance totals for that PAC are pending.
