St. Petersburg faces $12M shortfall in next year’s budget
The city budget is facing its fourth year of property tax reductions, setting the scene for another round of heated budget discussions and difficult cuts, Mayor Bill Foster said Thursday. Property value are expected to drop by 10 percent, leaving the city with a projected $8.3 million loss. Rising city salaries could bring the total deficit to more than $12 million.
