A few quick hits before a screed I did not get to finish yesterday… There are just great reads abound in today’s paper, albeit many of the stories are heartbreakingly tragic, especially, the report that three Florida panthers were killed by cars on three consecutive days last weekend and have pushed the total of road deaths for the state animal to the point where it is on pace to top last year’s record of 17. I’m still peeved about Michael…

News of Mary Brown’s decision not to seek re-election to the Pinellas County School Board is reverberating through the African American community, which viewed Brown as a hero and a pioneer, no matter how ineffective she was in elected office.  As boring as a race for the School Board may be, the Times will make a project out of those who hope to replace Brown.  That’s the way the newspaper works.  It has impact in the statewide races because it…
