AIA New York honors New St. Pete Pier design in 2016 award for urban design

The new St. Pete Pier design concept is being honored by AIA New York in its annual design awards. The design and its parent firm, Rogers Partners, received a Merit Award in Urban Design from the group, also known as the Center for Architecture. “The New St. Pete Pier will provide year-round activity along the entire length of the new pier and seamlessly integrate with downtown St. Pete’s ongoing renaissance,” Rogers Partners posted on Facebook. The city has released its second “Meet the Design Team” Pier Park bio, this time highlighting John Curran of ASD Architecture in Tampa. Curran is a studio leader at that firm and has worked on various projects around Tampa Bay including the Glaser Children’s Museum and the Florida Aquarium’s Rising Tides exhibit. St. Pete City Council approves W-Architecture as top-ranked team to develop $20 million Pier uplands

St. Pete City Council approved the final ranking of design teams bidding to undertake the city’s Pier approach project. W-Architecture tops that list and can now enter into negotiations for the $20 million project.
