Adam West, Burt Ward reprising Batman roles in animated movie

in Apolitical/Top Headlines by

Adam West and Burt Ward are reprising their respective roles as Batman and Robin, but they won’t have to don tights this time around. The actors are voicing the characters in the animated film “Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders” out this fall. Julie Newmar will also return as Catwoman. The movie’s colorful style will recall the campy aesthetic of the 1960s live-action “Batman” TV series starring West and Ward. Worlds collide in “Batman v Superman”

in Apolitical/Top Headlines by

Zack Snyder‘s thundering and grim “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” offers the kind of blunt, mano-a-mano face-off usually reserved for Predators, Godzillas and presidential candidates. And just as has often been said of this election year, “Batman v Superman” takes a once almost charming tradition and plunges it into the gutter. Long gone are the telephone booths, corn fields or any other such tokens of innocence. And given the prevailing climate, Snyder may have judged the rock’em-sock’em moment wisely.…

Batman: Year One getting animated film adaptation

in Apolitical/Peter by

Geek Tyrant reports: Warner Bros. Animation is going to develop Frank Miller‘s Batman: Year One into an animated feature. He resists elaborating simply because, quite understandably, he says, ‘I just don’t feel comfortable talking about it.’” Christopher Nolan nips talk of recasting the Joker for Batman 3. (There was much fanboy speculation that the Ledger-esque Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, now on Team Nolan as of Inception, might take up the war paint for some kind of Silence of the Lambs-y type nod to the character from the depths of Arkham Asylum. No can do, apparently.) (h/t to The Ghost…

Top secret RNC document reveals Bill McCollum is not a top priority for GOP

in Statewide by

Politico reports that a top-secret Republican National Committee fundraising presentation — which lampoons President Barack Obama as the Joker from Batman and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as Cruella de Ville — was left at a Florida hotel. “The 72-page document was provided to POLITICO by a Democrat, who said a hard copy had been left in the hotel hosting the $2,500-a-head retreat, the Gasparilla Inn & Club.” Read through the document and take a look at page 19, a list…
