St. Petersburg Times’ Sandra Gadsden doesn’t care for Foster personnel decisions

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

The St. Petersburg Times Sandra Gadsden echoes much of the criticism I have leveled about Bill Foser’s awkward personnel decisions the Mayor has made during his first months on the job, especiallyFoster’s appointment of Todd Yost as the city’s lobbyist: Yost’s appointment was announced in a rather curious way. “He didn’t contribute money, he didn’t raise money, he didn’t knock on doors for me,” Mayor Bill Foster said. “His involvement in my campaign was zero, zilch, none.” No offense to…

Shocker: Bill Foster to appoint Todd Yost as city lobbyist

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

In a stunning turn of events within St. Petersburg’s City Hall, Mayor Bill Foster is expected to announce Todd Yost as the next city lobbyist, a move that is already raising questions about Foster’s ability to manage a cacophony of divergent voices troubled by the omnipresence of Deputy Mayor Goliath Davis. Going into the final stages of the interview process, Yost was not said to be a finalist for the position.  But Yost emerged as the final choice for several…

in Peter/The Bay and the 'Burg by

Since Thursday, when I first broke the story of Deputy Mayor Goilath Davis being stopped by the Gulfport Police Department in the early morning of December 15, 2009, for suspicion of DUI, I have been inundated for answers to questions as to how I, a singular writer and blogger, broke a story of this magnitutde. How did I scoop the St. Petersburg Times?  Still others wanted to know what my motivation was for investigating the story?  Some wished to know if I had a…

Video: Gulfport police stop Goliath Davis for suspicion of DUI

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

Yesterday, an anonymous source contacted me with information that City of St. Petersburg Deputy Mayor and former Police Chief Goliath ‘Go’ Davis had been stopped by Gulfport Police on suspicion of DUI. I don’t have to tell you how quickly I moved to investigate this matter.  I am surprised I did not get a ticket for speeding from the same police department I needed to question. With the full cooperation of the Gulfport Police department, I was able to track down an incident…
