Minions and fire dances to highlight this year’s Howl-O-Fest at Boyd Hill

Halloween is all about trick-or-treating for most kids. But this year families can enjoy the fun the weekend before too. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is hosting its annual Howl-O-Fest October 23 and 24 from 6-10 p.m. each night. The festivities include games, crafts, airbrush tattoos, a “Minions Trail” (you know, those little yellow dudes from Despicable Me,) festive trick or treat cabins, fire dance and “Viking Tale of Terror” live shows. St. Pete City Council could have another contentious meeting this week as it prepares to approve or deny Mayor Rick Kriseman’s $20 million ask for improvements to the Pier Uplands to complement the Pier Park plan already in the works to replace the iconic inverted pyramid. St. Pete to purchase “critical buffer zone” for Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

St. Pete is buying a nearly 35-acre sliver of land from the St. Petersburg Country Club to expand the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve.
