Officials in Broward County are asking some 150,000 residents who live in low-lying areas,mobile homes or along the coastline to evacuate before Hurricane Matthew approaches South Florida. The results of Florida’s Aug. 30 primary election are now final. The state Elections Canvassing Commission — comprising Gov. Supreme Court could reprimand judge over “undignified conduct”

The Florida Supreme Court is signaling it agrees with the proposed punishment for a Broward judge. A panel of the Judicial Qualifications Commission had recommended a public reprimand, mentoring and stress management classes afterĀ Circuit Judge John Patrick Contini was brought up on judicial conduct charges last year. The battle over Broward Bridge is over. The state’s Department of Corrections andĀ Bridges of America announced a settlement Wednesday afternoon. TheĀ state had been planning to pull the plug onĀ Broward Bridge, a residential program offering transitional counseling, drug treatment and other services to inmates on work release.
