Lightning’s victory over Detroit led by guys who don’t often score

in Sports/Top Headlines by

No one will ever call them the new Triplets. J.T. Brown? Really? He hadn’t scored a goal in 46 games. Andrej Sustr? Honestly? He had scored only one in 45 games. Yanni Gourde? Seriously? They lost 5-1 to the Ottawa Senators, rarely showing any jump in their defeat. The Sens scored the game’s first two goals and the last three in their lopsided win. Only J.T.…

Lightning upsets New York Rangers behind J.T. Brown assist

in Sports/Top Headlines by

Perhaps you would like to look at the victory as a turnaround moment for a sputtering team. That remains to be seen. You can look at it, however, as a metaphor for the way things have been going for the Tampa Bay Lightning. They were outnumbered. They were outmanned. The other team was hotter than they were. And still, the Lightning won one of its biggest games of a disappointing start Thursday night when they beat the New York Rangers…
