During Thursday’s visit to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home of Winter the Dolphin, Gov. Rick Scott took an opportunity to highlight Florida tourism, the state’s largest industry. In the current state budget, $74 million is set aside for VISIT FLORIDA, the quasi-governmental corporation tasked with attracting more tourists to the Sunshine State. Authorities say a rough-toothed dolphin found beached on Clearwater Beach is being treated by veterinarians at SeaWorld Orlando. Crews from Clearwater Marine Aquarium retrieved the dolphin on Sunday. The Tampa Tribune reports the 200-pound, 7-foot male dolphin was placed in quarantine, where veterinarians gave it fluids and antibiotics. The dolphin was extremely weak.
