Court clerks funding case continues in capital

A lawsuit over how the state funds its clerks of court is still trudging along in Tallahassee, court dockets show. Circuit Judge Karen Gievers set a case management conference for Sept. 7, after lawyers for plaintiff Howard Forman alerted the court of possible “additional or substituted parties.”

For one day only, Clerks of Court across Florida will be giving traffic violators a break. Operation Green Light is a statewide program where many of the state’s Court Clerks will accept overdue traffic tickets, criminal fines and fees, without charging the normal collection agency fees of up to 40 percent.
