Pinellas County residents will join forces with Americans across the nation to observe Veterans Day on Wednesday with ceremonies and events. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 94,997 veterans were living in Pinellas County in 2014 with nearly 1.57 million in Florida. A new poll released on the Florida Senate race shows Pinellas County GOP Congressman David Jolly with a narrow one-point lead over South Florida Democratic Representative Patrick Murphy, 44-43 percent. The survey was conducted by the polling firm of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, a polling firm with that includes Stan Greenberg, a longtime pollster for Bill Clinton. The 2016 Senate campaign of U.S. Rep. David Jolly rolled out a new petition Monday in support of Jolly’s so-called “Freedom Card” Veterans Affairs reform plan. Habitat for Humanity dedicates 340th Pinellas home

Yesterday marked the 340th home dedication for Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County. A three bedroom, two bathroom house on 3rd Avenue N., in St. Petersburg, will now be home to the Engle family: Mary Anne, a local small-business owner who recently earned her U.S. citizenship, and her two teenage sons.
