A second Democrat filed Thursday for the House District 59 seat, setting up a primary battle to face Dover Republican state Rep. Ross Spano in the general election next year. Although Eastern Hillsborough County has been the graveyard for Democrats in legislative races for awhile now, the party came awfully close back in 2012 to winning the House District 59 seat.
