The losing continues for Florida Atlantic University Sunday, The Owls dropped a 28-23 game to Charlotte when its desperation pass into the end zone as time expired was caught out of bounds. Charlotte, in its second season of competition, won its first-ever game in Conference USA. FAU had no answers for Charlotte quarterback Hassan Klugh, who hit 14 of 17 passes for 223 yards. Ball State’s Neal pulls out late victory over Florida Atlantic

Ball State trailed Florida Atlantic for most of the night. But not in the seconds it mattered the most. Riley Neal, a sophomore quarterback, pulled the game out for Ball State with a two-yard touchdown run with 1:47 remaining. Neal ran for two touchdowns and threw for two others in a 31-27 victory.
