With falling natural gas prices, Duke Energy Florida announced it will cut monthly residential electricity rates $5.83 for a typical 1,000 kilowatt-hour customer beginning with its April billing cycle. Duke Energy Florida wants to build a solar power facility in an Orlando suburb. The utility company said last week that it had filed permits to construct the Osceola Solar Facility by early 2016.
