The Florida Lottery announced Monday that daily drawings will resume and make-up drawings for all Lottery Draw games suspended because of Hurricane Irma will be conducted in sequence Tuesday “with full security and auditing measures in place.”
The Florida Lottery and the House of Representatives are seeking an extension in which to settle a pending lawsuit over a $700 million contract for new equipment, court records show. Lottery outside counsel Barry Richard and House general counsel Adam Tanenbaum asked the 1st District Court of Appeal that they “be permitted to provide another status report to the court by Oct. 31.” Last Thursday was the previous deadline for a status report.

David Mica Jr., the Florida Lottery‘s chief of staff, has been named interim secretary while Gov. Rick Scott searches for a full-time replacement, an agency spokeswoman said Tuesday. Mica was officially appointed as interim on Friday, according to Lottery spokeswoman Connie Barnes.
