Mitch Perry Report for 5.18.15 — Jeb Bush talks tough on gay marriage

in 2017/The Bay and the 'Burg/Top Headlines by

Jeb Bush isn’t the only leading Republican presidential contender from Florida who is struggling to get his story straight on whether it was the right thing to invade Iraq. Yesterday on Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace refused to let Rubio off the hook regarding where he stands on the issue, since he appears to have two completely different answers to that question in the past two months. Wallace also grilled Rubio for displaying a lack of leadership in the way he handled the issue…

Two Republicans who have never held elected office — Dr. Ben Carson and Carly Florina — officially will declare their candidacy for the GOP nomination for president today. Carson will do it in his hometown of Detroit. Fiorina will reportedly just issue a statement, though she will appear in an interview with Katie Couric on Yahoo later today to elaborate on why she should be the next POTUS. There are heavy odds against both of these candidates, which is why…

Palin has certainly kept her name out there since 2008, however, with high-profile speaking gigs, regularly posting endorsements and policy positions on Facebook and Twitter, and writing a best-selling book.…

Charlie Crist on ‘Meet the Press’ this morning

in Uncategorized by

U.S. Senate candidates Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio will soak up the national media glare today. Crist will be on CNN’s “State of the Nation” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Rubio is also doing “State of the Nation” as well as “FOX News Sunday.” What about Kendrick Meek?  Beth Reinhard points out that he will be on, um, a local channel, WPLG-Channel 10’s worthwhile “This Week in South Florida with Michael Putney.” I better get the DVR ready.
