Andrew Warren says rebuke by federal judge last year is no big deal

Andrew Warren, the former federal prosecutor running for Hillsborough County State Attorney, was rebuked by a federal judge last summer, who said a request for time off was made in violation of a local rule of the court. The response came after Warren asked the judge to recess the court for two days so that he could attend a “Leadership Tampa” event sponsored by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Tampa Chamber supports another vote on Go Hillsborough- but only if it’s for 20 years

The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce says it will support the  the Hillsborough County Commission approving the half-cent Go Hillsborough transportation tax on the ballot in November – but only if it goes for 20 years. Tampa Chamber is backing proposed half-cent sales tax for Hillsborough transportation

A key business group is supporting the proposed half-cent sales tax to fund Hillsborough County transportation. “Based on our study of the issue, the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce supports a half-cent sales tax for a duration of at least 20 years to fund transportation options within Hillsborough County, including the incorporated cities of Plant City, Tampa and Temple Terrace,” the group said in a press release Thursday.
