SP Preservation ‘summit’ for candidates

The mayoral candidates will attend a “Summit” sponsored by Saint Petersburg Preservation on Wednesday, July 29th, 7PM, tentatively scheduled for the Historic Pennsylvania Hotel, 300 4th Street North. The candidates will hear brief presentations from Saint Petersburg Preservation on top preservation issues and programs. At the end of the program each candidate will have 5 minutes to respond and state their position on preservation. Most candidates have confirmed their attendance. The event is open to the public. From SPP prez Will Michaels: I am pleased to report the Community Preservation Commission on April 17 approved the landmarking of St. Peter’s Cathedral and certification of transferable development rights for both St. Peter’s and the adjacent First Baptist Church property.
