With less than a month to go before the Aug. 30 primary, Mike Twitty continues to swamp Jim Frishe in the fundraising race. Twitty, who’s running his first campaign, has raised about 2 ½ times more than political veteran Frishe, a former state representative. Voters will have a choice of candidates for Pinellas County Sheriff and property appraiser on Nov. 8 with three candidates running for each of the seats. It’s the first day of qualifying for the upcoming elections and several candidates for Pinellas’ constitutional offices have pre-qualified. Three have no opposition, so far.
