Senate not-so-hopeful Nina Hayden blocks me from following her on Twitter

in Peter/The Bay and the 'Burg by

Senate candidate Nina Hayden has made the second biggest mistake of her campaign (other than the mistake of giving up a safe seat on the School Board to run against Jack Latvala): she has blocked me from following her on Twitter.  The last candidate to make this same kind of mistake was Scott Wagman — and we know how that worked out for Wagman. I understand why Hayden doesn’t want to read my blog.  Because I write what EVERYONE else…

Senate candidate Nina Hayden DID NOT qualify for the ballot via petition

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

With not enough money in her campaign account to cover the check she will have to write to the state in order to run for the state Senate, long-shot Democratic candidate Nina Hayden once told me via Twitter that she wasn’t spending a lot of time fundraising because she was focused on gathering the requisite number of signatures to qualify for the ballot via petition. Looks like Hayden wasn’t focused enough. According to the Pinellas Supervisor of Elections, Hayden came…

Peggy O’Shea draws a challenger

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

From  the Gradebook: resident Greg Hunsinger has filed to run for the Pinellas County School Board against incumbent Peggy O’Shea. Hunsinger’s bid in the at-large District 3 race means all three incumbents up for re-election – O’Shea, Mary Brown and Linda Lerner – are facing challengers. A fourth seat is up for grabs because incumbent Nina Hayden is running for state Senate.

Democratic activist Jim Jackson running for Pinellas School Board; Mendee Ligon, Keisha Bell also in, Charles MacKenzie out

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

Looks like there is a lot of interest in running for the Pinellas School Board.  Checking out the Supervisor of Elections’ website after reading Pinski Politics, I notice that Democratic activist Jim Jackson has filed to run for the District 7 seat on the Pinellas County School Board (currently held by Mary Brown).  Also, filing for District 7 is Keisha Bell, while dentist Mendee Ligon has filed to run for the seat being vacated by Nina Hayden. Developing…
