Steve Kornell’s campaign contributions swell to more than $40,000

St. Pete City Council member Steve Kornell continues to trounce his opposition in campaign finance activity. Kornell has raised more than $42,000 so far after bringing in $5,662 between August 17 and September 13. Kornell’s opponent, Phillip Garrett, raised $800 during the latest reporting period marking his first contributions to date. Garrett pulled in another $231.75 of in-kind contributions from himself. Two St. Pete City Council candidates face fines for turning in campaign finance reports late

Two candidates for St. Pete City Council did not file the latest required campaign treasurer’s reports by the deadline that passed Friday. The City Clerk’s office received reports from District 7 candidate Lewis Stephens on Tuesday and from District 5 candidate Phillip Garrett on Monday.
