USF’s Quentin Flowers named American Conference Player of Year

USF quarterback Quinton Flowers is still compiling his personal highlights. Flowers was named the American Conference Player of the Year Wednesday. Flowers finished the season ranked in the top 20 of nine different offensive categories, including eight games with 300 yards or more  of total offense. Brad Kaaya finally broke out. Kaaya, the University of Miami quarterback, had gotten off to a slow start this year, largely because the Hurricanes have run the ball so effectively. With quarterback Luke Del Rio out after injuring a knee against North Texas, the Gators will turn to transfer Austin Appleby to take on rival Tennessee.
