It’s been almost seven years since Tampa last hosted a Super Bowl, but local officials are working on an effort to host the NFL championship game in either 2019 or 2020. After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a defeat marked by fumbles, penalties and just one touchdown, authorities say a south Florida man tried to set the team’s oversized flag on fire. Florida lawmakers gave no money for sports stadium projects during the 2015 Legislative Session. But that was last session.
