Donald Trump calls Eric Erickson a “total loser” after being banned from RedState event

in 2017/Top Headlines by

Donald Trump is not backing down  at all after being dis-invited to speak at tonight’s RedState gathering in Atlanta by organizer Eric Erickson. Erickson issued a statement around midnight on Fridaym saying that Trump was no longer invited to speak as the headliner for the second day of the conservative conference in Atlanta, which featured other GOP candidates like Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. Erickson booted the New York businessman after his derogatory comments towards Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. Trump had been on…

Stop the presses! RedState posts something not-entirely-positive about Marco Rubio

in Statewide by

For a moment there, I thought I was still on Daily Kos, but nope, there is actually a post on RedState that does not slurp Marco Rubio: Don’t get me wrong: his campaign up to this point has been rather brilliant, taking an established politician and selling him not only to the Florida GOP but to national conservatives (grassroots and establishment alike) as the true, “outsider” principled conservative choice for Florida and the Tea Party. Which he is, I trust.…

RedState’s Erick Erickson finally weighs in on GOP primary in Florida governor’s race

in Statewide by

For conservatives trying to figure out whether to back Bill McCollum or Skeletor, Erick Erickson has spoken, although all he really says is that the Clintons are, of course, to blame for Rick Scott’s problems: Truth be told, McCollum has paid his dues. He’s been around for a while. I don’t blame him for acting badly. But here’s the thing — McCollum is a hero to a lot of conservatives because he helped impeach Bill Clinton. But Rick Scott is…

How Charlie Crist helped Skeletor’s chances of being Florida’s next governor

in Statewide by

From RedState: When Charlie Crist yelled “No Mas” against Marco Rubio and jumped the GOP ship a couple weeks ago, the hissing sound you heard was all the excitement of the anticipated 24 August primary escaping into the atmosphere. Couple this with the surprisingly low turnout in this weeks primaries, and what you have is the probable fact that the turnout for Florida’s 24 August primary will be surprisingly low. (Warning to All Republicans: Don’t count your chickens before they hatch).…

It’s only February, but have the U.S. Senate candidates already jumped the shark?

in Statewide by

This last week, I cruised around the Bahamas, soaking up the sun while downing frothy boat drinks. Not once did I think about Charlie Crist or Marco Rubio or Kendrick Meek. What a vacation! But now that I’ve been home for a few days and read through my Google Alerts, I have this sinking feeling that the candidates for US Senate are about to jump the shark. And it’s only February. In the course of a week, the supposedly media-savvy…
