When things are going badly, when things are at the worst, the Tampa Bay Rowdies always have the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to rely on. Take Saturday night, when the Rowdies won a 2-1 game to break a two game losing (and scoreless) streak. Tampa Bay has a 14-4-6 lead against their rival Strikers. The Rowdies have acquired midfielder Victor Giro from the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, adding to their impressive group of midfielders. His contract runs through the season with an option for 2017. The world is coming to St. Petersburg. The Tampa Bay Rowdies announced Tuesday that Al Lang Stadium will be a host site during next year’s Florida Cup, a tournament that will host teams from Brazil, Argentina, Germany and the U.S. Other teams, including more Brazilian, American and Asian teams, are yet to be announced.
