Gulfport Mayor Sam Henderson wants to make sure voters in his city can get to the polls next week to cast a ballot. Henderson posted his phone number on Facebook inviting them to give him a call if they need a ride. Gulfport challengers wind up campaigns with far more money than incumbents

Gulfport candidates turned in their last campaign finance reports Friday before Tuesday’s election. As has been the case throughout the campaigns, challengers ended the fundraising battle far ahead of incumbents. Barbara Banno, who is challenging Mayor Sam Henderson, raised more than $27,000 as of March 10. That total includes nearly $3,000 raised between February 27 and March 10. Barbara Banno has so far outraised incumbent Gulfport Mayor Sam Henderson by about double in her bid to unseat him. Banno has raised more than $22,000 as of February 26th while Henderson has brought in just over $11,000. Despite the fundraising lead though, both candidates are left with about $6,000 in the bank with less than two weeks to go before the March 15th election.
