The Senate Health Policy Committee took up and passed a priority bill for the Florida Medical Association over the strong objections of Associated Industries of Florida as well as the Florida Association of Health Plans. Kendrick Meek may be in some hot water over ties to Dennis Stackhouse, a developer accused of fraud. According to records, Meek’s former chief of staff received $13,000 from Stackhouse. The developer also allegedly paid $90,000 in consulting fees to Meek’s mother.
