In his first major decision as the new Times food critic, Jim Webster pussies out of making a major change to the newspaper’s grading system, which is currently based on an anachronistic four-star system. The First Man of Pinellas, Chuck Rainey, dies at 77

The St. Petersburg Times is reporting: Charles E. Rainey, a consummate politician who more or less ruled Pinellas County for three decades, has died. He was 77. He was at Hospice House Brookside in Palm Harbor when he died early Tuesday. Mr. Rainey, a former legislator, became a member of the Pinellas County Commission in 1967. Continue reading here.
