Florida immigrant coalition blasts GOP proposal to crack down on “sanctuary cities”

Florida GOP lawmakers in Tallahassee Tuesday announced a number of bills that would crack down onĀ illegal immigration. Among those bills include HB 675, sponsored by Yalaha House RepublicanĀ Larry Metz, which would punish so-called “sanctuary” cities that don’t cooperate with federal officials attempting to deport undocumented immigration. Hillsborough school district OKs $2M for injured football player

The family of a high school football player who suffered a serious brain injury is getting a $2 million settlement from the Hillsborough County School board.
