Cool new web tool from AARP allows users to see how their neighborhood stacks up to others

Two Florida cities were recognized in a new tool released this week called the Livability Index. Jacksonville and Tallahassee were identified as strong “livable communities based on a series of metrics. It’s a web-based tool developed by AARP to measure overall community livability. The tool scores things like housing, neighborhood, transportation, environment, health, community engagement and opportunity. Tampa wants dibs on any future U.S.-Cuba pact signings

They’ve already declared their support for a Cuban consulate to be housed in Tampa. Now they want any major agreement between the Cuban and U.S. governments to be signed in Tampa as well. Tampa Bay job demand outpaces other Southern cities

The Tampa Bay region leads the southern U.S. in job demand. According to the online job posting and search site, ZipRecruiter, the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area ranked number one among cities in the “Sunbelt.” Tampa Bay is ranked with a +140.0 hiring demand index measured by relative monthly job growth across the entire country.
