Donald Trump leading Marco Rubio in Suffolk University New Hampshire poll

in Top Headlines by

Winning New Hampshire doesn’t determine anything when it comes to winning the Republican presidential nomination. If that were the case, Pat Buchanan would have been the nominee in 1996, and John McCain the party’s standard bearer in 2000. But they weren’t. Both Bob Dole and George W. Bush rallied from their stunning early losses to capture the nomination for president. But having said that, Marco Rubio can’t be too pleased to see that a new Suffolk University Poll released on…

Ted Cruz is NOT the real hypocrite over Obamacare

in Top Headlines by

Ted Cruz is NOT the real hypocrite. While declaring himself a candidate for U.S. president at the self-proclaimed “largest Christian University in the world,” Ted Cruz said he would not just overturn Obamacare, but would repeal “every word” of it. Every. Last. Word. And then a few hours later – seriously, less than a day – we learned that U.S. Sen. Cruz is signing up his family for healthcare using the dreaded, socialist, competition-stifling, Affordable Care Act. The need comes,…

The numbers for Marco Rubio on that front are almost identical — 35 percent say he should run, to 51 percent who believe he should sit it out. PPP…

Bill Day’s latest: the ‘Cruzzard’ takes flight

in Top Headlines by

At Virginia’s Liberty University, Ted Cruz made it official. The Texas senator declared his long-awaited White House bid on Monday with a passionate 30-minute speech, calling to “reignite the promise of America.” Cruz, a Tea Party firebrand, became the first in a soon-to-be-very-crowded Republican field with an event at the bastion of Christian conservatism; an irony not lost on either side of the aisle, including editorial cartoonist Bill Day. Cruz’s campaign – most certainly a long shot – seeks to mold…

in The Bay and the 'Burg/Top Headlines by

It’s late March of 2015, but it’s all about 2016 for a couple of politicians in the news today. One is South Florida-based Democratic U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, who is officially running for the U.S. Senate next year. You can read our interview with the young Democrat (he’s just 31) that we conducted with him last night. But the big news nationally is Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s announcement in a few hours that he will be running for president in 2016. Unlike Jeb…
