A couple of weeks ago, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn made his way up to Tallahassee, because who wouldn’t in late June? Actually, Hizzoner was in the state capital to give a speech at the Tallahassee Tiger Bay Club. He also made an appearance on The Usual Suspects, the local public affairs program, where the idea that he is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor got some play. Bob Buckhorn travels to Tallahassee tomorrow in what is being seen as his first overt move to broaden his statewide appeal in advance of 2018, when he’ll likely take a run at the Democratic nomination for governor. Audubon’s Eric Draper says Legislature ‘out of sync’ with voters

Eric Draper of Audubon Florida told a television audience during a weekend broadcast that legislators are showing they are “out of sync” with voters who supported Amendment 1. Seventy-five percent of voters in November approved the funding initiative, which provides an estimated $742 million for water and land conservation in the 2015-16 state budget.
