Rep. Darryl Rouson’s statement on veto of SB 6

in Statewide by

From Representative Darryl Rouson: Our Governor, Florida’s Governor,Ā was very courageous in vetoing this bad bill and standingĀ against the legislative Republican Party leadershipĀ Ā of Sen. John Thrasher, the sponsor, as well as the House speaker,Ā Senate president and the majority of the Republicans in the Legislature, when he joined 11 other Republican legislatorsĀ  in opposition to SB 6. Making this a truly bipartisan opposition to a draconian measure. TheĀ Legislature’s Republican leadership failed to listen to the people of their districts, their constituents, their…

Charlie Crist can not win the Republican Primary, that much is now clear.Ā  The right wing of Florida’s GOP absolutely despises Charlie Crist. But Charlie Crist is a loyal Republican.Ā  Forget about him having been a Republican his entire life.Ā  Forget about his mentor being RepublicanĀ Connie Mack.Ā  Forget all of the “less taxes, more freedom” slogans.Ā  The bottom line is Charlie Crist’s parents are stalwart Republicans.Ā  Mrs. Crist is the embodiement of the classic Republican woman…a modern day Pat Nixon.Ā …

Kendrick Meek Campaign urges Charlie Crist to veto ‘leadership funds’ bill

in Statewide by

From Kendrick Meek: Even as financial abuses at the Florida Republican Party come under scrutiny and investigation, the effort to expand secret political slush funds in Florida has been renewed. Ā We can’t afford to let the backroom bankrolling of politicians be an accepted practice of Tallahassee insiders. Ā Tell Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio that enough is enough. “[There is currently up for veto] a bill that allows a handful of legislators to create soft-money fundraising machines, known as leadership funds,…
