Tree lighting, concerts and local shopping fill St. Pete’s holiday weekend calendar

St. Pete’s holiday display is going up this Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Mayor Rick Kriseman and Deputy Mayor Kanika Tomalin will light up the city’s giant Christmas tree and various other holiday displays at Vinoy and North Straub Parks at 7 p.m. Festivities start at 5 with live music from the St. Petersburg Community Band, Musicstars and Expressions Dance Studio. Blanket seating is available in the park. There will also be interactive games for kids as well as concessions.…

Vans Warped Tour heads to St. Pete

The Vans Warped Tour will roll through St. Pete Friday featuring nonstop music starting at 11 a.m featuring punk, ska and rock bands from all over. In all more than 100 bands will rock Vinoy Park in downtown St. Pete for the all-day music festival. This year’s festival features bands like blessthefall, Motion City Soundtrack, Simple Plan, Black Veil Brides and Pierce the Veil. There’s also entertainment outside of music including spoken word artists Jake Ducey and Trey the Ruler.…
